Hi
I often find copies of catalog html pages in the root of my site 1 folder which i have to delete so that they don't overwrite the fresh html in sitehtml folder on upload.
Does anybody know why this might be happening?
Thanks
Pete

Hi Peter
Can you tell me what product and version/ point release of Actinic you are using. As far as I'm aware this only used to happen with one of the older point releases of Version8.
Kind Regards

Hi Peter
Have you checked the contents of Actinic to see if any of these might have links that could possibly be generating these files. I suggest you search your products/sections/fragments etc, please check your templates as well. If all of this gives no joy then please get in touch with support ,someone might be able to investigate the matter further.
Kind Regards

Hi Peter
Do you mind me asking who your host is?
We have come across this before in v7 and v8 with clients on a certain host (1&1) and are currently investigating with a current theory based around the passive transfer setup via their servers...
As stated, it is just a theory under investigation.
To resolve this we usually advise a complete DB compact operation followed by a complete REFRESH WEBSITE as opposed to UPDATE.

There is / was a bug in V7 that caused files in the site1 folder to be uploaded in place of freshly created ones. See this thread http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=23321 as an example.
I don't know if / when this was ever fixed but the workaround is to delete any web pages from your site1 folder as they shouldn't be there. (Best make a backup first just in case you delete something you didn't mean to).
