HI There,
I have a site build in V7 and I'm currently trying to test Protx using the test user names and passwords provided by their documents but when I try a test transaction I get this page below when normally in the past with other sites i have created it would go through fine, im I doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance
Angi
----------
Actinic Catalog - Transaction Failure
An error has occurred at protx
The specific error message was : An Error occurred in the VSP Server Payment Engine
Because an error occurred in the payment process, you will not be charged for this transaction, even if an authorisation was given by the bank.
If you have questions about the payment process itself, please contact protx at info@protx.com
If you have any questions regarding delivery of your purchased items, please contact The Protx Test Vendor directly
Click Proceed below to return to the The Protx Test Vendor home page to attempt your purchase again using a different payment method.

Hi Ang,
We've got the same problem, exactly the same page comes up. can't see it being a problem with actinic as the rest of it goes through fine until we get to the Protx test pages.
It even says its a problem with the protx VSP payment engine
Can you post back if you manage to sort it?

Did you contact Protx about it? and what did they say?
I have just sent them a email and had another moan at them, I will let you know once they do something about it.

Hi there,
You might want to give them a ring 020 7292 3900, I have to go out for a hour but when I get back I will try calling them again, but if you have to time to get in there before me then you might when to call them.
What was strange is im getting about 4 people to test and it and it went through fine for 2 people that have nothing to do with the site but for me and the client it shows an error. You might want to try getting someone else to test it for you to see if that happens to you too.

I have rung them and they said to use this address to make the purchase through https://ukvpstest.protx.com/showpost/showpost.asp im still trying to work out where to put it but that way they can check the process.
Whats odd is I have asked me sister to do a transaction and it went through perfectly, so i think now they have a test I am going to ask them to go live even though i cant place an order myself. It could be my IP is blocked or something stupid like that.
Good Luck

Angi,
As a Protx user, I would rather you pursued this to a conclusion with Protx. You may have found a bug in their process that could affect all of us.
That address would replace the standard test address in your OCCProtxScriptTemplate.pl file (comment out the existing line by adding a # at the beginning of the line and paste the new address into a new line immediately below).
To go back to the standard file, you then just take out that # and add a new # before the new address line.

Have you ensured that your site is in TEST MODE for Protx in the Payment settings?
May sound a silly question BUT always worth checking.
I have never come across this error page and we always integrate with Protx?

Yes it was in test mode and this is the 5th site I have set up with protx so im not new to doing this, although I always forget what im doing half the time :o)
It does not make sence how everyone but me can place a successful test order. I asked Protx to place a test order and they said they were receiving an error saying this below when they were trying to add something to the basket, and no one that I have asked except them has received this which is also slightly worrying.
----------------
A General Script Error Occurred
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Error: The input is NULL
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Press the Browser back button and try again or contact the site owner.
----------------
I have tested this in I.E7, Firefox and Opera and it all does the same. I have tried contacting them again and saying it does need looking into so we shall see.

This suggests an error within Actinic/cgi-bin.
Can you try on another pc? Could it be a browser setting, local security setting change?
We can place a test order if you would like?

That would be great but its password protected so could I email the details to you, if you give me your email address?
Thanks for doing that I really appreciate it.
Sorry in reference to above I didnt get the null error Protx did so it could be a setting in their browers but thanks for letting me know.

Hi Angi
Test order went through OK.
Only thing I can think of is your local settings as earlier.
Maybe clear out your cache, cookies, history etc and try again....
