When does the cart get emptied?

Every now and then a customer contacts me to tell me the contents of their cart from a prior order still exists. At what point does this get emptied? Or put another way, why didn't it get emptied when the completed that last order?

It should get emptied when the order is completed and reciept made - maybe the customer had a copy of your site in their temp. internet files cache?

With Actinic, the order should have been completed, once the customer has clicked on the done button on the receipt page.

If they selected Remember Me option, then the cookie and session file will retain their address only.
