restricting item postage [Archive]

I am running actinic catalog v6.1.3

My postage was, up until now just to the UK but i have now introduced airmail prices for Europe.

I have a box that when ordered in the UK it goes by courier because of its size and delicate contents. What i want to do is restrict this product to UK orders only, is this possable?

Hi Martin

Unfortunately not - you cannot set product specific shipping at the moment. It has been added to the wishlist before so I'll make sure it's seconded.

A work around is to use shipping by weight, allocate an unfeasibly large weight to the product in question (heavier than you would expect the largest order to be), and set up a class in your UK shipping zone for this weight (which is the courier service). Then within the Rest of Europe shipping zone, do not include this class, and within the regular class set a limit for the weight (Do Not Allow Excess).
