Hi

I've got the 30 day trial CD ROM but can't run it on my Win 98 machine, although it runs fine on Win XP Pro and XP Home. I've installed it OK (and reinstalled it several times), even downloaded the Catalog trial but that won't work either. I get the following message:

CATALOG caused an invalid page fault in
module CATALOG.EXE at 0177:0054c342.

Any ideas why? I'm not very technical but I know a programmer who is...

Thanks

Hi Janice

I don't know why you are getting this error message, but please try the following

1. Fully remove the software again
2. Restart windows
3. Once windows has restarted, then on the zip file, which you have downloaded, please see a file called MDAC_type.exe and Jet40Sp3_Comp.exe, please double click on these two first, once they have been installed, restart windows again
4. Once it has been restarted, then proceed to install Actinic again

Kind Regards

Hi Nadeem

Thanks for responding - I tried this and got an error message on installing Catalog "cannot find the file c:\progra~1\actcat~1\MDAC\mdac_type.exe" (I unzipped to c:\program files\actcatalog) but went on with the installation and Catalog seemed to work OK.

However when I exited and tried to go back in I got the same invalid page fault error message. Just to make sure the MDAC exe wasn't corrupted, I downloaded and installed MDAC 2.60.6526.3 and Jet40SP7_9xNT.exe from the MS site (apparently Jet40SP3 has been "retired"). I did various permutations of uninstalling Catalog, rebooting and reinstalling it again.

I checked Windows/System for MDAC files and found mdaccore.rsp and a readme file. Are there any other MDAC files I should have?
