i am having a problem with my actinic 8.5. i am not a great computer boff like a lot of you. my server hoster is 123 connect. and am having problems uploading for the first time to be able to see my website on the web. i can upload but cannot see it. this is i think on a linux server. i have copied and attached the actual network settings that i am trying.
http://whitestar4.lightning1.net or https://84.18.198.45:8443
username: any name
password: any password

i will change the password after i have sorted it out.

I'm confused. Why is the link you have given not the website URL?
(You have not uploaded to that location according to the network settings)

I think your catalog URL may be wrong, try http://www.lock-decoders-shop.com/acatalog.

Run a network test in Actinic and post any errors.

Also it is much easier if you export the network settings to a text file and then post the text file here. (with usernames and passwords removed)

it should read http://www.lockdecoders-shop.com
tried to export as text but it didnt seem to do this.

before you ask ask any more , please

1 run the network test requested by Duncan
2 change the catalog URL as requested by Duncan
3 export your settings to txt - this function does work you may have to learn how to do it.
4 provide us with a link to the host's website and tell us what package you bought

1> i cannot export as anything but a type of picture format
2> i have tried the url that was suggested but that is not right.
3>i asked my host for a server that i could run actinic with cgi scripting and he has loaded what you can see here on a linux server. ftp://ftp.lockdecoders-shop.com/

What happens if you click on the export button in network settings then?

lockdecoders
21-Aug-2007, 10:30 AM
it takes me to my pictures and only allows me to save in a picture type format

leehack

txt is not a picture format, it is a text format. Export it as a txt file and then open that file outside of actinic. All 'should' become clear.

i cannot export as anything but a type of picture format go to network settings, use the EXPORT button, browse to where you want to save the file, save it and give it a name with an extension of txt.

I'm not going to reply anymore as you clearly aren't acting on the replies given so far

Run the network test and post the errors?
It is easier to initially disable SSL in your network settings.

lockdecoders
21-Aug-2007, 12:27 PM
okay will disable ssl and then run network settings and then post the errors

Please post what was the problem and a summary of the working settings.

Also please change the subject title of this thread to something like:
'123 Connect Network Settings'. This will help the next person who has similar problems.
