Wotcha folks.. I have multiple shipping classes and zones setup, and presumed (never tested til now) that once customer selects their country, the shipping class dropdown would only present them with Shipping Classes that cover that country. At the moment, if you select US, the customer is presented with all shipping classes, rather than just the classes that ship to that location.

IE: How do I limit what shipping options are shown to those appropriate for the chosen country?

Add any item to store at http://store.over-clock.com and head to checkout... tell it your from the US, California.

Now it should (logically) present you with ER Airmail Small Packets, and TNT Economy Express as the shipping options... but instead it presents ALL classes, leaving customers in a mess.

What've I missed???

Shipping Configuration is set to "By Zone and Class"... if shipping band not defined "Do Not Allow Shipping". I only have "default" category containing all items.

ER Airmail Small Packets and TNT Economy Express are the only classes that list United States and Canada in their zones...

Tax is set to "simple tax" with customers allowed to tick exemption if they're outside EU.

Read 'Restricted by location' in the Shipping section of online help.

Lost me... have checked Knowledge Base, FAQ, Starter Guide, AUG, and Help Topics within Actinic, and no sign of anything involving "Restricted by Location" - ie: What/where do you mean by "Online Help" specifically? Can't find anything that refers specifically to "Online Help" on Actinic.co.uk

Sorry, my mistake - it's payment methods where you 'limit by location'.

Shipping methods should be restricted by which shipping classes are members of the shipping zone.

Have you selected Zone and Class on the configuration tab top left?

Yep - s'all set and always has been since Actinic 3...

They're the only defined zones with US / Canada featuring... so logic dictates only these two classes should be shown when customer selects US as shipping destination...

I dont have mine set this way

I set mine by creating the zones for the different countries,

Zone 1 england wales
Zone 2 Northisland Scottish highlands

then under each zone the type of shipping you can have for that zone

Zone1
--------Standard Delivery
--------Special Delivery
--------Carrier
Zone 2
--------Standard Delivery
--------Special Delivery
--------Carrier

Now each of these delivery options is done by weight, and i have 10 zones set up with all the countries i want to ship to and the appropriate delivery charge comes up, for some of the countries i only have standard delivery, some i have different ones like international parcel services. It all works for me this way

hope this helps

That's exactly what I've got above, it's just I chose not to call them "Zone1" "Zone2" etc. They're named as per the Zone sheets supplied by the couriers we use, and the different couriers have different countries as members of each zone as I've shown above...

I know how it's SUPPOSED to work, it's worked peachy for us for years - but for some reason our site just isn't behaving in the "usual" way at the moment and is presenting all options regardless of selected country.

Marcie,

I would suggest taking this up with support as we will have to take a look at the setup to see what is causing it not to work. You can raise a ticket at http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm

Kind regards,
