Hi there.

Sounds like you are using windows XP?

Thumbs.db is a file that is used by Windows to display thumbnails when you browse folders on your computer.

It is safe to delete Thumbs.db in the

C:\Program Files\Actinic Ecommerce v6\Sites\New SME\CommonOCC\

folder.

Try importing the snapshot again.

Kind regards

I'm getting the same problem but can't get rid of it

My error message is C\Programme Files\Actinic Ecommerce V6\Sites\Site1\CommonOCC\ Thumbs.db! has been caught

I can search and delete all the Thumbs.db in the site - save a snapshot but when I reimport it I get the above error

I'm using XP Home

Any ideas please

Nigel

Hi there.

Please try searching the whole computer for thumbs.db and delete it wherever it resides.

Darren

This is what I've tried...

Set folder options to 'Do not cache thumbnails'

Searched C drive including hidden folders and sub folders

Deleted all Thumbs.db

Saved a snapshot of the site - tried to reimport the site but get the Fatal Error Message

Searched the Actinic folder and now find 3 Thumbs.db files

C\Programme Files\Actinic Ecommerce V6\Upgrade V6.1.4.0.0.0. DNNA\Site1\Theme

......SiteUpgrade\BackupV6.1.4.0.0.0.DNNA\Site1\CommonOCC

......SiteUpgrade\BackUpV6.1.4.0.0.0.DNNA\Snapshot themes\Elegant

They seem to be regenerated when I try to import the snapshot?

Any ideas please

Nigel

Hi there.

Can you just try one thing for me? Scan the drive again and delete all thumbs.db. When done, scan again and make sure none are left. Then try another snapshot.

Please let me know how you get on.

Darren - searched twice, deleted the 3 Thumbs.db on the first search and they weren't found on the second search, created the snapshot, did another search and found nothing but still got the Fatal Error message when I tried to reimport the snapshot

Hi there.

I have made our development team aware, as we are scratching our heads on this one.

I will post again when I have news.

Hi there.

Can you zip up your ActinicCatalog.mdb file in your site folder please and send it to

communityadmin[@]actinic.com .Please check the file size, if it is greater than 8.5Mb it will be too big to send, we will find another way.

(Excuse the square brackets, trying to prevent email harvesters).

Hi again.

Please let me know when you have sent it, as have been experiencing email problems.

Thanks in advance.

This tumbs.db is created when you use windows explorer, if you view the contents of a folder and you have it set to show as icons this will give you the error, change all your views to list and it does not create it.

This is how i have managed to correct this problems, it also gives you similar grief if you copy a folder for backing up when it gets to the thumbs.db file it falls over.

hope this helps a bit

Cheers

I have received you database and there are no references to thumbs.db

I have also tried importing the snapshot you sent James into Windows XP (the one with thumbs.db in) and it imports fine. I have had a look at the Microsoft Knowledge Base to see if I can find anything there, but sadly no. I will go back to the development team.

Hi there.

I am sure that you have done this, but...

Select Control Panel
Select Folder Options
Click the View tab
Check "Do not cache thumbnails"
Click the OK button
Delete all the thumb.db

In the meantime, our development team are investigating to see if a way can be found to ignore the thumbs.db error.

Hi there.

Could you send a new snapshot to communityadmin[@]actinic.com, we can then see what the effect of the previous post has had.

Hi there.

The development team will be working on a fix that will ignore the thumbs.db files. Unfortunately this will not be available until 7.0.2, no date is yet available I am afraid.

In the meantime, if you wish to transfer a site, copy the site folder between the computers. You will also need the encryption key, username and password under Housekeeping | Security from the 'export' machine to put into Housekeeping | Security in the 'import' machine.

My solution in the end was to reinstall Actinic and import the saved shapshots - worked OK
