Hi, I'm getting a nessage -The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers - when I try to click on one of the image links in the site. I tried a website refresh without success.

In tinkering about I used the generate scripts button which said that I could manually upload CGI scripts and lot of java applets and what not. It's this message

o Create the Actinic web site directory
o Place the Java applet archive files in the Actinic web site directory:
encrypt.zip
encrypt.cab
o Create a subdirectory tree (COM/Actinic/Catalog) off of your
catalog web site directory and place the loose Java applet
class files in it:

It looked to me as though that may have something to do with it so I went into the control panel of the webhost and looked around to see if those things (encrypt.zip, class files etc) were anywhere in the webhost file directory. I couldn't find them.

Can you tell me, do I need to create the various directories and subdirectories outline above and if so whereabouts in the structure?

This is what it looks like at the moment

Get the upload to work properly though network settings.

this is the only way to go for future uploads, by bypassing network settings you are only fudging things.

Have you checked your host is actinic compatible?

Okey Dokey so back to square one.

So, bearing in mind the structure on the server, I added the www/cgi-bin directory. The only other place on the site that there is anything similar is www/stats/cgi-bin. There is also a www/stats/acatalog folder.

Theses are the network settings I have at the moment. Any help greatly appreciated.

Chris, you need to register a support request with Actinic support here: http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm

Your posts are getting confusing and to be honest you appear to be getting further away from the solution each time.

Mike

Fair enough. Thanks for the assistance anyway.

Actinic want 250 quid which is the slight problem

1. Check that your host is compatible with Actinic
2. Run a network test - post error messages here together with the network settings (which you have done) as well as who your host is and what package you have with them.

Without all of the step two information you'll only get guesses.

NB. Actinic cover is only required for telephone support - I beleive you still get email support without cover.

As Duncan says, you only need the Actinic 'Cover' for telephone support. Although you also get free upgrades during the year so it's often worth having for that alone.

Support requests issued via the link I gave above are free.
