Knowing absolutely nothing about Fax machines can anyone recommend any models with the following features.

Answerphone
Automatically switch between voice and fax calls.
Facility to be used as a printer, if needed.
Handset or cordless
Cheap refill inks

This will be for lite use so not too expensive.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Jason

If you keep your pc powered 24/7 and you have a modem in it then in XP you can configure fax receipt and sending.

Open your printers and you will see set up faxing under printer tasks.

Many thanks, I would rather a stand alone fax machine though.

Kind regards

Did a fair bit of research into this a little while back. Settled on a Lexmark X5470 from Misco, cheap as chips with decent reviews.

Only thing is, it drinks (expensive) ink quicker than a Scouser going through a car park.

PC Pro's sites always worth a look for `best of` stuff.

we use an on-line fax to email service.

Works well, the free service lets you receive a fax as an email, you get your own fax number, you can send fax's but there is a charge. Of cause you could just send through XP as stated in a previous post.
