View Full Version : Paypal - Recurring Payments

Hi All,

Thanks Lee - put code tags around.

Thanks to all for your feedback so far which is being acted upon and the site is in the middle of being updated.

Having seen this option in Paypal, https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/we...-intro-outside I would like to be able to offer my customers the opportunity to subscribe to ordering a product on a regular basis e.g. a product every 4 weeks etc.. hopefully to make it easier for the customer so that they never run out - and also providing me with a regular order etc....

However I'm struggling with how to integrate into the store.... My initial thought was to create a product and design a new layout.

So....

I created a new layout called Subscriptions with the code provided from Paypal - shown below (this is site specific coding so please don't copy)

However when I select this layout in the product details layout field I get an error message stating that: NETQUOTEVAR:ENDSEPARATOR is missing

So I added this and it still didn't work. I'm guessing there might be a bit missing - but I'd really appreciate your help on what I can do to integrate this - if anyone knows???

Thanks

Linda

To start with just embed the code in a text-only fragment and see what happens. Having this within a product is almost certainly going to mean you fall foul of nested form tags which is not allowed. Get it working in a fragment first to confirm it is OK, you know for a fact then that it is just your product layout causing the problem.

You can of course also just embed the html into the product description as your next phase after trying the fragment method.

just embed the code in a text-only fragment The way ahead - gift vouchers work the same way.

I can get both the recurring payments and the gift vouchers working in the brochure pages as a text- only fragment. However I'm not sure how I can integrate this as a product in the main store - is it possible and if so I'd really appreciate your help on how I do that.

Just need to add these before I upload the site.

Thanks

Thank you...

Sorry I got myself all confused. In the broachure pages, I have created a new html page with the coding and selected this for the fragment which generates the link on the page.

If I put the code into the product description box it generates a page of Code not the links.

Any ideas??

Thanks

be careful when embedding a form into a form...

I would be tempted (depending on layout) to add a fragment as opposed to adding it into the product form?

Just a thought...

Good point, you could consider a different layout for that product in that case with a custom variable to hold the code.

defo the custom variable route IMHO in this instance.

The fragment solution would be ideal for beginner/new to act

Put the tags around and it now works - fantastic.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

Left with grouchy baby this morning (she's just had the last of her triple injection thingies), whilst wife has the morning off, I'm now in that too tired to work, too wired to sleep zone...
