Upload and retrieve orders problems

I've been having real issues with both uploading and retrieving orders over the past few days. When trying to retrieve orders the screen just freezes while searching for orders and I just end up having to shut it down. When uploading the store the ftp keeps timing out. I've just done a test on the network settings and that screens frozen too.

Any ideas???

Sounds like a server connection problem - check all is well with your host
