we kinda want..

Unfortunately, the site map page is just a load of bulleted lists within bulleted lists so there is no way to change the appearance of the link based on level in the hierarchy.

However, you could use the Javascript section lists to insert a different style of link depending on section level. The instructions for inserting a Javascript section list are in the Advanced User Guide under the heading of 'Creating a List of Hyperlinks with Sections and Two Levels of Sub-sections'.

Look at the HTML within the JavaScript expressions. You can edit this to make it look different for each level in the hierarchy.
