Any update on when the Actinic Ecommerce-EPOS Link will be available for Actinic Ecommerce v9.1
(Yes I know 9.1 has only been available for an hour or two!)

Hi Mark
There will a new version of Actinic EPOS in the next week or so that will include an EPOS link that is compatible with 9.0.1. I suggest you wait for that before upgrading to v9.0.1

Sorry about that. I've had a word with the product manager in charge of EPOS and he says the new release should be all ready to go by the end of the week.
Thanks Chris.......that news is very much appreciated:) :)

Hi
Any news on the update to Epos. Mine has started losing products and need to start again from scratch so will wait for the update before sorting it out.
Yep....could do with the update:)
Any news on the update Chris?

Hi,
I'm afraid that our QA team are doing rather too good a job on this and keep breaking it which is why it's release has been delayed. I'm trying to find out some more information about it and will try to give you an update this afternoon.

I hope its within the next few days as my database has broke and I need to restart from scratch by the looks of things. Am closing the shop on sunday to re-enter everything (nearly 300 products) and would rather do it on the new version that the version I am running now. (this version seems to lose products and won't let you create new replacements for the ones it's lost)

Sorry for not getting back to you yesterday afternoon, but I've just had some news back. Our QA team are working hard, testing the new build and are hoping to have it finished for release by the weekend (I know you've heard this before, but it really does depend on whether they find anything serious enough to stop it from being released). I'm told that things are looking good so far.
One thing that Vista users will need to note is that User Account Control (UAC) will have to be switched off. Putting this fix in would delay the release even further, so this will go into the next one.

In your honest opinion do you think it will be ready for Friday?

In my honest opinion, I just don't know. I wish I could give you guarantees but I'm afraid that I can't. I'll check with the progress on Thursday and give an update then.

It's looking more likely now that the release will be early next week. I'm informed that testing is going well (still) but to ensure it gets the thorough testing it deserves for the latest round of fixes they will need all day tomorrow too. I'm sorry if this is inconvenient for anyone (Chris, I've emailed you regarding your situation) but please don't shoot the messenger :o ).
Thank you for keeping us informed Tracey......very much appreciated

I've just spoken to our QA manager and they are hoping to get the Beta release out later today. I'll let you know if anything changes.

:( I'm afraid that it's bad news. An issue has been found with the EPOS Link and is quite serious so it's delayed again. I'll keep you posted.
Bugger!!:(:(
Are we taking a few days or weeks Tracey?
Thanks for keeping us up-to-date, very much appreciated

Just had a word with the product manager and they are looking at this issue as a priorty at the moment. The main problem is that we're not sure yet whether this is a problem with the EPOS Link code or the EC software. If it is the EPOS Link code then as soon as it is found it can be fixed and can be released fairly quickly. However, if it's found in the EC software then it's going to take longer. Again, as soon as I hear anything new I'll let you know.

:) Good news! They've found the issue and are fixing it now. Will be tested tomorrow and hopefully it can be released on beta either tomorrow evening or Friday (obviously as long as nothing else is found - I've got everything crossed).

Bah - sorry guys, but something else was found. So there won't be a release of EPOS today. I hope these updates are useful - I'm sorry they are not better news.

Any news and updates is better than no news at all........even though my stock levels are begining to fall apart
Keep them coming:)
I guess it's not going to be today then?:)

Sorry, but there is still an issue that's stopping us from releasing this. I don't want to give another date that we won't make until I get something in concrete from the development/QA team. I'll try and give an update early next week.

Latest update: Again, not good news I'm afraid. Because of an upgrade to our development software which we had to do because of fixes to other parts of the ecommerce software, we're having problems installing new run-time libraries on XP and Vista. This is affecting all our new builds but is obviously being worked on as a priority.
I'm on Actinic V9 now which obviously does not work with EPOS V2.92. Does anyone know if it's possible for me to revert back to Actinic V8 from an Actinic V9 site?
I just need EPOS to work with an Actinic V8 site as my stock levels are falling apart and I'm getting lots of disappointed customers
Cheers

I've just been speaking to the head of our QA team and all fixes that have gone into this build are now complete. A new (and hopefully final) build was created about an hour ago. This will need a 'sanity' test to ensure that the last fixes that were done haven't broken anything else. All our QA resource is being put on that so that we can release it on beta early next week.

The new release has finally come out on beta. Hopefully, it can go onto full production soon.
I just want to apologise to everyone who has been waiting so long for this release. As Tracey has said, we switched all of our testers across the company onto this and also made it our number one priority for development in order to finally get it out of the door.

Can I also suggest that before you install this version, you take full backups of the 'c:\checkout' folders in case of any problems.
