Hi

Does anyone here employ the services or have recommendations of an SEO company.

I would really like my website to come higher in the organic listings as PPC is just too expensive.

I have tried some seo but I need an expert, also I need to free up some of my time.

Thanks

Martin

Hi Martin,

There are many SEO companies out there but you'd have to be careful because some user under hand tactics and go against Google guidelines. Even if you find a suitable company they may still be likely to ask you to make changes to the site yourself so it might help to understand the main areas of seo such as h1 heading tags, back links, keywords and so on which have been covered on the forum. Also see http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=36857 for some good tips.

hi martin, we have been actively employing seo people for some time now. depends where your based as its great to use local people if they can do the job?? we have used Justsearching.co.uk for some time. they got us to the top page on our two strongest keywords and high ranking on camping tents etc. they are good .... but tres expensif... and not too good service wise. my account manager has changed three times in a year.

we are looking at another company called blueclaw, more local to us. they seem ok. the acid test is how well optimised their websites are. example type SEO into google and justsearch is number 1 after wikipedia. most seo companies dont like actinic because its in house and they require access to the website. but you can get round this by supplying them with a license to actinic etc

hope that helps you

more to the point, actinic is good on seo anyhow.

iv done carts for people with no web skills, and no real optimization on the site (meta title or keywords) and its come high for terms.

it really depends on your market.
