I'm currently selling a couple of my old laptops and wondered what was the best way to ensure that all my personal data and programs were permenantly deleted from the drives - any recommendations?
Admittedly, i should have found out how/if I could do this before putting them up for sale :o

i think the fdisk followed by the format command should do it
but that means you need to reinstall the necessary drivers, windows etc.

I'm assuming the Pcs are being sold with windows, etc so you really only want to wipe your own stuff.

Of course I guess the most secure option is to wipe the whole disk and then re-install windows.
