I have downloaded the guide to setting up Actinic to work on a RaQ4 server.

In the guidelines it refers to setting up the acatalog directory in a users directory on the RaQ.

In otherwords.

Instead of setting up the actinic site as:

www.mydomain.com/acatalog/

It suggests setting it up as follows:

www.mydomain.com/myuser/acatalog/

I can't see why it should be done this way. Am I misreading it or is there an option to place the acatalog directory in the web root?

Thanks Jo I will give it a try. Seams a lot easier than the PDF I downloaded which would have resulted in the actinic site being in a /~myuser/ directory.

Hi,

I'm pulling my hair out trying to make sense of some of these settings. I've read the Actinic guide to installation on a RAQ, plus the other messages in this thread, and I'm no further forwards!

I was running the site on a Fasthosts linux box quite happily, but not have my own RAQ4. So far, I've not been able to get anything in an operational state.

Any help/advice appreciated.

Simply follow Jo's intructions above, they are (near enough) the only instructions you need for a Raq server.

I use a RaQ550 and didn't need to do anything, just uploaded the sites.

...but using the above settings still resulted in errors the last time I tried it.

Perhaps there is something set differently on my RAQ...

Cheers.
