View Full Version : Central Place For Tutorials?

Would having all tutorials in a central place make things easier, could they be tagged onto the SEO and Site Review forum for example? They're an important part of the forum, but they can bloat the top part. Perhaps key stickies for that forum should just be in each forum and all others centrally stored. Things a bit scattered about at the moment, be nice to effectively go to one bookshelf and choose your book, rather than search through a few bookshelves. Not ideal i know, perhaps an improvement on the current situation though?

Would the new "BETA" KB not be the place?
It could have a Tutorials section, with a link/thread on the forum pointing to this resource?

Why not put them and the AUG all in the site help files where they really belong, I thought that was what help button was for
Have a upload file every say two months with new items
The better the help file the less repeat questions on the forum

Combine the two options:
Click help - takes you to an online KB/Help File

ooh, Chris
you've been visiting that little fantasyland of fairies and pixies again, haven't you? :p
:D
They are a bit spread about at the minute. The AUG, as good an idea as it is, isn't updated often enough and the information could be better places somewhere online so we don't have to keep updating the version each time.
The KB is a better idea...or a central forum.
The advantage of having it on a forum is that they'll be picked up in searches and I'm still sure far more people will look here than in the KB.
Stick it in both..even better!

I almost posted the same thing last night after being relegated to the laptop and the smaller view port and only seeing Gabes tutorials on the screen... dare not post as he has a huge weapon (Tracey - thats left open for you) and takes things personally.

ahh...so kind you are, Mr J!
However, I am a reformed character and my 'smut' is relegated to other outlets nowadays* :p
I'm a useful member now, dontcha know? ;)

Hi all. This is a fantastic idea. I'll refer it to the people that oversee all the online support. The knowledge base is the place to put all these things now - and just FYI all the advanced user guide articles are now added into the knowledge base at the same time.

Chris, does that mean that the WHOLE of the AUG is now in the KB?
