Hi,

Here is my current listing in Google :

Masonic Regalia | Acacia Masonic Supplies | Online Masonic ShopMasonic supplies, regalia, clothing, books, jewellery, accessories and masonic forum.
www.acaciamasonic.com/ - 29k - Cached - Similar pages

This was cached on 16th June 2008. However, it showing a meta description from months ago although my current meta description is :

Masonic Supplies including Masonic Regalia, Clothing, Masonic Books, and Jewellery. UK and US Masonic Regalia. Delivery UK, Europe and Worldwide.

I have no idea why Google is still showing this as I have not used this for at least three months. I have gone through alll of the pages in my site and this meta description does not appear anywhere in the current site pages.

Has anyone any suggestions please ?

Google is showing your shop title plus the meta description. It's correct.

Mike

Edit 1: Ok. I missed the original question as I was distracted by the title bit.

So it does appear google is using your old meta description. I've no idea why, but maybe they only update that bit occasionally or maybe they don't like your current meta description and couln't find anything better than they already have.

Edit 2: OK. The answer is because that's what you have on DMOZ and Google is using that rather than your own meta description.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

How do I do that in Webmaster tools ?

Can't seem to see anything to do that in any of the sections.

I think there's a meta tag for this: http://diagnostics.googlerankings.com/dmoz-snippets.html
