Actinic works best keeping all files inside the Actinic site folder eg:

C:\Program Files\Actinic Ecommerce v6\Site1\My Files

snapshottng was never that hot in v6, i am pretty sure in v6 days i always backup by zipping the site folders

As a v6 legacy I still copy the entire site folder "just in case"

hmm so you think if i put all my sound files in the site 1 section then it might work ??

but that will lose ALL my links of sound files currently ? ive got so many on there theres a few thousand i think !! but theres no guarantee it will work ?

not too sure what to do ....

hmm so you think if i put all my sound files in the site 1 section then it might work ??It stands a very good chance - it looks like v6 is being overloaded with all the external links to your files. You will also find that because your files are external to the site 1 folder they are not being backed up onto the snapshot so its pretty much a waste of time.

The other option is to upgrade to V9 which can deal with files not in the site1 folder.

ahh wikkid well thanks a lot for all that help its very very much appreciated !

SO ... how much is it to upgrade to V9 or is there a download i can get that just does it ?

or just spend all my time sorting the sound files out - its possible but would just take a while !!

how much is it to upgrade to V9 or is there a download i can get that just does it ? prices are on the actinic website - how well your site upgrades is another matter as its best to go to V7 then V9 first.

.. or you can simply change the image paths in the database .. directly using Access (find and replace) or export (did v6 have that ability) and edit the paths in Excel and import back in... will save you a few quid at the same time (born in Yorkshire :D )

If you don't have Access slip someone a pint of beer and the correct paths and they will do it for you.

I would go the V9 route and use the opportunity to tidy the site up as there are a few broken links eg http://www.promo-records-ltd.co.uk/acatalog/Cd_Promos.html
