Dear All

I am looking to purchase Actinic Business plus the link to either Sage or Quickbooks this week.

One point that is not clear, is that at present I use Catalog and have objects for sale with various attributes. say, Swearshirts, attributes "size", "Colour", "Style".

As I do not use stock control this is not a problem, but if I use stock control and a accounts link between the two how does it work?

At present the packing list and Invoices show three lines per item brought i.e. sweatshirt, size, colour, style. ideally I would like to just use a code OBSSCCSS for Object, Size, Colour and Style. How do I set that up?

Does anyone have a positive feedback on what accounts package is best Sage or Quickbooks.

Confused

Chris

You need to create each available permutation of choices as a separate product in your accounts package (either Sage or Quickbooks) and also as products in Actinic. Sage Line 50 allows you to transfer products from Sage to Actinic whilst Quickbooks cannot do this at the moment.

Then in Actinic, you can associate each available permutation of choices with a product. This is done in the 'Permutations' tab of a component - you will need to put your attributes within a component within your product in order to have a 'Permutations' tab.

Select the appropriate product in the 'Product' column of the Permutation grid, and then tick 'Name from Associated Product'.

This will mean that the associated product stock details are taken into Sage/QuickBooks when the order is transferred out of Actinic using Actinic Link.

I have attached some screenshots to this post in order to show you what this setup looks like in Actinic.

If you wish have a look at our site, most of our products use this sort of set up, but the polycarbonate section is the best to try

http://www.casupply.co.uk/acatalog/25mmpoly.html

Also with regards to chris suggestion, we hide the actual product so it is not shown on the site and also you will need to associate the price to the hidden product otherwise every item will be zero priced. You can also elect to not show the main orderline and just show the hidden item in the shopping basket and on your print outs.

If you need anymore help just ask

Cheers
