May I suggest that you remove the link to your site as forum members may find it offensive or at least put a warning about adult content.

...at least put a warning about adult content.
Thank's for bringing it to my attention.
I nearly missed it.

I didn't think you were allowed to smoke indoors these days...

Have a search for Gabes site for advertising your project on.

Yeuch gross. Anyone think like me that the only reason for the original post is to get people to check out the link? (I haven't in case you are wondering - Mal's warning was enough)

Surely no self-respecting Actinic designer would touch this kind of stuff with the proverbial?

Or does money come before ethics?

I guess it depends on how much money in most cases. Sex and Gambling are still the two highest earning areas on the internet unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on which way you look at it!).

I thought that site like that broke actinic licencing terms? Certainly I will not be tendering.

Me neither, and I suspect by the morning the OP message will have been pulled.

That said, can Actinic really put what types of sites are allowed in the licensing terms? I can understand a hosting company having guidelines like that, but can Actinic? Its a bit like Microsoft saying you can't use Powerpoint to show anti-christian slide shows (or something!)....just curious really.

I remember something about it being in the licencing terms. I'm not at an actinic machine so cannot check.

Thanks for the warning Mal, could have been embarassing while I'm at work...

Adult content is against the Actinic license terms

(H) use the Software for websites that are adult, pornographic or distasteful, as determined by Actinic at its sole discretion;

Personally I don't see how they could enforce that, but I suspect it makes no difference to people who do use it for those kind of sites.

The site listed was definately an actinic site by the way, just in case any designers are looking for 4 sites to redesign and aren't that bothered by fetishes.

Prove that no-one is being exploited by these types of "adult" websites and I might change my opinion.

I think that's a bit harsh to be fair to James and not really relevant to his question. He is an Actinic shop owner, and the stuff he is selling (albeit not to everyone's taste) is legal. There are plenty of other Actinic sites that sell "adult stuff", and I suspect there are plenty of Actinic shops selling stuff that, knowingly or not, may have been made in Chinese Sweatshops or worse!

If Actinic themselves believe the site breaks their T&Cs then they should revoke the licence and refund him, but I very much doubt they would.

Anyway - James, here is Gabe's site: http://www.actlance.co.uk/

I think there is a small fee, but I haven't used it myself.
