Brochure home page and menu's

I want my catalogue's home page to display the menu as it is in the catalogue part of the site, whilst remaining editable from within the catalogue software. However I have found if I manually put the menu into the homepage, as soon as I do any kind of update it removes the menu. I want to be able to edit the home page from within the catalogue software, but also display the menu.

Does anyone have any idea how I can do this without having to resort to copying and pasting the code then ftp'ing the page seperately?
