Cash Sale Problem

HI all,

I need the ability to put some items thru the till as a cash sale using the cash sale button, I have created a product for it and it works fine, on clicking the cash sale button it asks for the cost. The problem is that all the items I sell have a cost price, I need to be able to put the cost of the cash sale item in whilst making the sale or the zread will be incorrect showing 100% profit,

Your asking Epos to do something it's not designed for. Is there a reason why you can't set up each item individually and therefore track your stock properly?

If you have lots of small items and its too much work to create a seperate item for them all - is it possible that you could set up categories to reflect the margin you make. Say create a "cash sale 20" button for items where you make 20% etc with one product in it at zero price. You would then have an audit trail in Epos and on your daily Z reads.

A word of warning about Epos though IMO it does not calculate margins properly - while your margins may appear correct on an item basis, there are other factors which will corrupt your figures when viewing reports. I use Epos for sales data only and transfer that into my accounts package where I also enter my Invoices and other expenses. And even then I have to make corrections for till paid outs etc which cause the Z report sales to be misreported. Wouldn't want to give the Taxman too much!

The reason for wanting to do this is,m We still have many products that have not yet been put into the system and I was looking for a quick fix for making sales using the system for items not yet in epos wearing a barcode,
