cgi-bin and perl problems

I am using actinic version 7 on a 1and1 server, running plesk 8.3
The network setup has cgi-bin and perl errors. cannot find them
Have rung 1and1 and they have confirmed that everything is in place and correctly configured.
I am told this is an actinic problem

1and1 is usually easy to set up on Linux.
Initially check for correct permissions on acatalog and cgi-bin.
Run a network test and check for errors and report them back here.

Unable to create the acatalog directory "acatalog" on the FTP server. The parent directory "../" may not exist or its permission may not be correct .

The specified directory is not writable or the disk is out of space.

So is there an acatalog folder on the server? If so, what are the permissions set to?

On 1and1 you must first manually create the two directories before uploading with Actinic.

Well even if we could read the settings in that image it would make no difference, you first need to do as Duncan says and create the directories yourself. That is on your web server, not in actinic.

i have other clients with the same program version on my dedicated server with similar issues

You need to ftp to your server and create the directories manually as Duncan has mentioned and Lee as reiterated.

the cgi-bin and actinic folders were created years ago.
This problem only recently occured when i upgraded to a new dedicated server from 1 and 1

Ok. So have you checked the permissions on the folder?

I get a 403 Forbidden Error on your acatalog folder... Permissions should be 755 or 777

Clive you have been asked by several people whether or not you have the appropriate folders on your server and what the permissions have been set to. Why don't you answer these questions?

Let's backtrack - you're not answering our questions.

1. If the acatalog and cgi-bin folders are already created you need to login with your ftp client and check the permissions - tell us what they are set to.
2. Run a network text in Actinic and report any errors it finds (This is not the network wizard) tell us what errors are reported by the test.
3. Export your network settings to a text file, remove any passwords and post the contents of the text file here.

Do these three things first and tell us what you find for each item.

If you don't answer the questions then we are wasting our time.
