Hi,

My PC told be I was low on storage space on my C drive this morning.
Having looked into it I have 126Gb in the Updates folder!
Can I delete some of these as I now only have 86Mb left!!
Can anybody tell me what these are for? They date from 4/12/08 to today. There are 200345 of them! all 688kb each

www.ccleaner.com - ensure you uncheck any boxes which correspond to data you don't want to lose, eg. Saved Passwords.

In the setup screen do you have a tick next to Log Errors?
I think this produces a txt file for every transaction.
Open one and have a look, if they are the transactions then you can happily delete all of them.

Setup screen?
Transaction?

Text files are rarely over 1mb in size. I'll guarantee if you have never run a disk cleanup piece of software before, CCleaner will save anything from 2-10gb of space. Follow that up with the Disk Cleaner built into Windows XP (Start-All Programs-Accessories-System Tools-Disk Cleaner - which will compress your files, overall you're looking at a saving of ~5gb+ on a (for example) 80gb drive.

Rofl - Serves me right for not looking for which topic the thread was in. Though I still can't see how many suggestion can be of any disadvantage.

Many thanks for all your support but I did forget to point out that all the Updates are in a folder called Updates in the main Checkout folder.
Having looked at it over the weekend while we sorted out our new backup procedure we found out it updates the ZID every 10 seconds and stores it in the Updates folder.
As the folder is now so large (160Gb, 250000 files) it hangs for a second or two every ten seconds.
Not sure if it has any relevance but when I hit the Close button on the Sales Screen the program shuts down and says Microsoft Access encountered a problem and had to shut down.
I can only close the program by clicking on File and Exit.
I have previously Uninstalled Actinic Epos and Access Runtime and the re-installed having saved the six main Access Files and then put them back.
Any more suggestions anybody?

Hi

Sounds like you have turned on one of the features in head office if that is active on your version where the system sends zreads automatically - can you let me know if the head office icon on your epos desktop is illuminated

regards

Steve

Hi Steve,

I only have Epos Solo and the Head office icon is not illuminated.
I have noticed tonight that my Checkout file is 1.1GB! Should it be this large?
