Having Buttons instead of Text for links

How can I change from Text links to Hover buttons i.e. What I'd like is to have buttons in place of the About Us text for example on the left hand menu and for Contact Us etc.

Also I'd like to change the design of my shop into a customised design (currently using Funky design), is there any documentation i can read up on designing from a blank sheet, either for Actinic or general HTML designing.

If you are using the Funky theme, then the links at the side will already be images. Try highlighting them in Internet Explorer and you will see that they are images.

You can select different images in 'Design Options | Navigation' and also in the 'Page Properties' window for brochure pages.
