Is tax switched on within Actinic thus telling it that you charge VAT?

presumably there is somewhere in your EXPRESS* control panel/business settings to set this?
* capitalised in case Lee hadn't noticed this was an Actinic Express question :p

Yes i have turned on the vat but not put a value (e.g. 15%) in the value box, as i would like all values in my shop to include vat, but would like to show vat on the invoice.
many thanks

presumably this is the problem then.
I'm not sure how Express works but does filling in the 15% add VAT ON to your current prices?
If making this change also gives the VAT on the invoice then you will have to alter your prices to the ex VAT version so that Express is adding it back on.
Looks like you'll have to make a call to support to clarify this though as no one else seems to have an answer here.

Hi Jeff
Express requires you to enter a Tax rate. You will also need to modify your product prices to ex-VAT and enable the Taxable check-box for each product.
Under SetupStore | Display Options, you have the choice of displaying prices including or excluding VAT on the site.
Please note however that, this is just a display option, hence toggling between the Inclusive and Exclusive VAT will only affect the tax amount (as per tax rate entered in the UI) being added or not added to the product prices on the product page. The VAT is then shown on the Invoice as a sub-total.
Hope this helps.
