We have many products that include the - character in their product code e.g. 32-123
Although the system allows the - character to be used when entering the product code, it does not appear to allow the character to be input when searching. Is there any way to resolve this?

Hello Mark,
I have tried this as well and can see that it does not except the – character when searching via ‘Product Look Up’ you can however search for the product by using its description.
Thanks

In search options there is a text box which allows you to define the valid characters included within the search index.
If I recall correctly I don't think the "-" character is included. Try adding that and see if that resolves your issue.
From Actinic's own internal help file:
The index breaks product descriptions into words. A word is defined as any contiguous collection of characters in the word character set. For example, if the product description is "This high-backed chair has been designed with comfort...", the index engine will identify the following words:
'this, high, backed, chair, has, been, designed, with, comfort'
However, if you would like 'high-backed' indexed as a single word, you need to add '-' to the word character set.
The list should be modified with care. The following characters should not be used: !<>&;:$%*#.

Sorry Mark,
Committed cardinal sin #2 and forgot to look at thread's category. My apologies.
