Anyone else seen or used oparla.com ??
Looks like another Google clone using a cash prize gimick to get users. But at least they are UK based

Nothing new here. Nothing 'innovative' about it, really. Search results which bring up standard matches to your search phrase is a dying mechanism - nobody does it anymore. This whole search/social thing going on is where the market leaders are already at, this new 'Oparla' is far behind the story timescale.

If you're after something innovative then:
Wolfram Alpha (http://www.wolframalpha.com/)
No, it's not a sequel to X-Men 3 or anything, however the hype surrounding this is growing every day.
The credits of the team that put this together are quite impressive so one would hope this will deliver on results in line with the hype (http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/blog/2009/may/01/wolframalpha-youtube-talks).....

Wolfram scares me, anyone else see the connection:

Shame - watched the new movie last night in the Premier seating (why I don't know, nobody else was in the cinema but our group:confused:) - pretty impressive stuff. Though I've just bookmarked Wolfram Alpha just in case it does develop in to another good sequel or a very good search project
