I have an existing vps server account which I host many different websites with webfusion.

I decided that we need secure certificates for our shops and found that you cannot install a secure certificate on a vps server.
I then bought a uk2.net account and found that all the sites had to be in subdomains that doesnt look good to my customers.

Can anyone help with which supplier / service to go for.
Must be able to host many sites currently 6, largest site is 1.5gb.
Require the facility to have secure certificates on a few of sites.
Server must be hosted in UK so appears in google.co.uk.

Obviously the cheaper the better, I would really apreciate your feedback on this.

Just thought i'd reply to say our multi site plans and our dedicated servers do all you require.

Mutli site plans`are priced according to the bandwidth used and will allow for up to 25 sites.

Our dedicated servers inc 100gb and unlimited domains.

We also supply SSL certs (Comodo)

Data centre and servers are in the south of England

Visit our website or contact us for more detail. search the forum for comments on our service :)

yep i understand the reasoning behind spreading your load...

others who host with us spread to 1&1 - i am not sure what you need to buy to get uk servers though

Just to add to Duncan's reply. 1and1 hosting does well in Google UK results as long as you have a .co.uk domain. If you're using .com then a UK host may have some benefit.

All Google needs is a good basis to include you in the UK results. .co.uk domain or UK hosting is all you need for this.

Actinic also does hosting and now has a variety of different plans.

Obviously both Actinic, and all of the decent specialist Actinic hosts, have the go-faster add-ons installed that speed up checkout performance and upload with Actinic.
