Supress Section Listing

With 3750 items I had to create 'pseudo sections' to make it all work. Now have about 300 meaningless sections listed in the left frame of one of the search results pages. Is there a way to supress the listing of these sections?

Is the piece of code that produces sectionlists. You will have to comment it out

Just a few minutes ago I found a toggle in one of the settings: Parent Section Links, I unchecked Show Top LEvel Parent, made list placement 'none', and unchecked 'omit from Top Level Sections', and that seems to have done it.
