Hello

For 3 years I've never had a problem with V8.5 and having searched the forum for the past 4 hours have I seen similar problems but nothing seems to help me out or give me a clue as I cannot find a thing wrong or anything I have changed, I've done nothing at all and all of a sudden I get this:

Unable to connect to the FTP server "doorentryonline.com". The computer is disconnected from the network

I can't download orders, I can't upload anything, not ever refresh the site - nothing at all

I use a virtual server from 123-Reg and use Cute FTP which uploads to my other sites (forums etc) so I can't see it as a server problem

I wouldn't mind so much uploading manually but I have no idea what files to upload as I tried to manually upload an html file and now it's lost the images so I'd prefer to use V8.5

Actinic just won't do a thing

I have re-installed V8.5 three times this morning and nothing at all will upload or download

It's not a Firewall issue as I have changed nothing and this started messing about Monday morning for no reason at all

My settings are below but I have used the same for 3 years without problem

Can anyone shed light please?

If you've changed nothing and sure of it, it's almost certainly a hosting issue. It's not something that suddenly fails from the actinic side usually. Your host has issues or they have changed something screwing you over is the usual answer as long as your firerwall etc. is not at fault.

Try a different PC if you can to eliminate that area.

Honest to god, I've not changed a thing then BANG! - I'll try another pc at work tomorrow (I'm working from home now) but I can manaully FTP to any site on the virtual server but not knowing what files I should upload have I lashed the site up big time now

And we all know what 123-reg are link at slooooooooow email replies

I take your point though

thanks

the ftp server does appear to be there so the Actinic warning message is a bit strange.

I would:

1. compact the actinic database in case of errors there.

2. Check in your firewall that Actinic has access rights to the internet.

3. try using ftp.doorentryonline.com

Not that I know what I'm doing but I can access everything by doing ftp.mydomain.com

I have compacted DB, and re-installed V8.5 3 times and it's deffo not a firewall issue, Actinic has full access

3. try using ftp.doorentryonline.com

Sorry. For this one I meant try using 'ftp.doorentryonline.com' in actinic for the ftp server name.

it is in there Mike, it always has been and never changed

As I said, I've not changed nowt at all

I'm gonna try this at work which is with Bt, not that should make any difference but I'll have to try a different pc and different provider so I know what is what cos this is doing my head in

Ok. Not what the network settings say above, but it probably wouldn't make any difference.

Sounds to me like it's borked.

what's that mean? - borked?

I've re-installed it 3 times, how come it can go belly up on a Sunday but was fine on a Saturday and nothing has changed - confused.com or what

hey ho, I just need to know what files to upload via FTP manually

thanks
