I'll be going to the user's conference in Richmond. If there are any other developers who would like to share a car from the South/South West, let me know. I'm in-between Ringwood and Wimborne.

My invite came by email at 11.04 this morning.
It's on October 14th, which is a wednesday so I ought to be able to make it this time. (OK I just checked and it's the week before school half-term so that's one more thing that seems alright).

Think they should make it free for support contract customers or at least 50% off. £50 is a bit steep for a few sarnies etc
Will you get hit by sales talk from Paypal and how wonderfull they are

I would've thought that a marketing email would at least get the name of the Director of Product Development right

It's in Richmond, by the River. They will be very nice Sarnies. Worth at least £4 ;-)

I'll second that!
Or a decent evening meal followed by the Chinese Circus.
Location's a bit duff - no parking, no local (affordable) accommodation.
I don't think I'd bother now, but by October I expect I'll need cheering up, but whether it'll be 50 squids worth of uplift I couldn't possibly say atm .

depends what you call affordable, I suppose
been looking at several Travelodges in the area (there are 2 within 4 miles)
Pricey if bunking alone still though, I suppose (I wouldn't be....IF I go..)

I found this great site a few weeks ago:
http://www.parkatmyhouse.com/
Let's you rent people's private parking spaces and drive space. I've used it a few times and it is very good.

LOL.
What really lies behind my comment is that I can't stand driving in London ever since I left, so the sheer thought of driving in there, particularly that awful traffic snarl of Richmond, leaves me cold. 4 miles - that's about an hour these days isn't it?
That parking thing looks excellent - thanks for the tip.

aye..well I'm not driving. If I did go it'd be via train and tube.

Being down the road from the Fullers brewery should ensure a decent pint at least.

Travelodge Heathrow Heston (Westbound) - £25 per night
Travelodge Heathrow Heston (Eastbound) - £29 per night
(saver rate - non-refundable)
Both are family rooms and could sleep three adults - That's £8.33 per person if you don't mind sharing, although one bed would be a double.

I will probably be going. It's only an hour from here by public transport so I've no excuse not to really. Driveway available for visitors!
I think that the user conference is only for boys Tracey because I didn't get an invite either.
I've stayed at one of those Travelodges - they are quite isolated but very cheap. No access to tubes without a taxi or car though.

bit of both!
Apparently, an email was sent but I never received it. I think it's even been re-sent but still not had it (checked webmail/spam..no-show)
I take that as an invite anyway though ;)

well, I got a begrudging, reluctant yes.
Now just need to decide
a) do I REALLY want to go? (who am I kidding? LOL)
b) Can I really afford it? (especially after wasting 3 days fixing hack-attacks and losing significant sales in the process)
If I can manage to get train tickets at discount, I'll be happier about it. They're not being released for those dates for another couple of weeks though so I'll just have to be quick, when they are!
Typically, I'll be away then too
I'd be more likely to go if you and Kathy were there :-)

TBH I'm not really sure that I would benefit a lot from the day's content. I'd be going for the social.

Just to clarify, this is open to any Actinic user, irrespective of whether you got the email. I guess if you didn't get an email it's because of spam filter / previous opt out etc. Having said that I didn't get a copy :)
It will be on a first come, first served basis. My anticipation is that it will be full.
