anyone got any views on optimising a site for foreign search engines , specifically european. ie .fr, .pl etc

i have a client who does a lot of business in europe and would like more exposure

my best idea is to have multiple descriptions in language or separate sections per country and country specific urlspointing to sub sections

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious but hopefully the client has a .com domain? If it's .co.uk it will be very difficult.

To optimise effectively for a specific country, AIUI you really need a local site, ie one with a local domain or physically located in the country. That's always the way we have gone.

Failing that, IWHT a separate section for each country would be best. I think a single language per page is a necessity.

client only wants to have one website, so no hosting separate sites in the countries is not an option

they have com, co.uk, eu domains all aliased to co.uk at the mo
