I am building a small site and do not want to give the option to search. I'm sure I saw an option to 'switch searching off' but can't find it now.
Can anybody help
Thanks

Hi John
You can remove the search that appears in the catalog pages by editing the Act_primary.html template.
If you open it using Notepage, and look for NETQUOTEVAR:SIMPLESEARCH, all you need to do it comment this out, so it looks like this...
<!--NETQUOTEVAR:SIMPLESEARCH-->
Then that will remove the search from the catalog section of your site.
Hope that helps
James

if search is a nav link on your site, you can go to Design>Options>Navigation and remove the word for Search and the two gifs associated with it..

The search option only shows in my product pages, after commenting out the NETQUOTEVAR:SIMPLESEARCH in the Act_primary page it still shows in my product pages?
Thanks

Act_Header.html is likely the culprit, if you find simplesearch again just comment out again...
Advanced > Template Manager > Main tab, and click Header
hope this helps..
