View Full Version : Promotional codes?

Hi all,

I've been trying to think of a solution whereby we can offer a discount or special offer to a group of people (who have never bought from us) without having to create customer accounts for them. Some sites offer a 'promotional code' field which can be entered on-the-fly, and prices are calculated accordingly. While I know Actinic cannot do this (yet!!) I wondered in any of you had found a way to tackle this?

Thanks in advance

You can enter a product with a negative value (by creating the product and then changing the price in the database), the price is reset to zero on download so you have to go and reset the price in the ordered product as well but it does allow the correct price to be charged to credit cards etc.

This only works if you have just one currency defined, if you have a second currency the catalog will not upload.

Hi Kate,

Have a look at

We managed to make this work quite well.

Hope this helps.
