The Actinic community is an important place and Actinic wants to ensure that it continues to be a welcoming and useful place for all that use it for many years to come.

We are going to be introducing three Actinic Customer Moderators who have been chosen from our existing users and will operate independently of Actinic.

We hope that they keep us on our toes and feedback ideas and suggestions on how the community should be run, ensuring that you, our users constantly have a voice in the future of our community.

I'd like to introduce the community to our new team of user moderators. We are delighted to welcome leehack (http://community.actinic.com/member.php?u=4619) (Lee), webD (http://community.actinic.com/member.php?u=7888) (Rich) and drounding (http://community.actinic.com/member.php?u=4293) (Duncan) as the inaugural members.

I am sure you will all join me in welcoming and supporting Lee, Rich and Duncan.

Good luck fellas, although i will be intrigued to know what your exact roles are?

And sadly i feel this was something that should of happened a long long long time ago. Now that reminds me it was requested after G made his legendary post.

Finally it has happened let see if the towers will sit up and take notice

*makes a note in his book of three email addresses to bombard with suggestions*

I think the roles will either develop into something very useful Darren or realise as something not really worthwhile. I now have a role in trying to make sure that it does become worthwhile.

We've been actively asked to keep Actinic on their toes and be the voice of the community as well as playing a part in keeping the community running smoothly. Keeping someone on their toes is a polite way of saying kick them up the backside, so that's what i will be doing :).

It has been a long time since this was asked for, but they have now done it, so i think we need to try and focus on using the chance. Actinic are modernising the way in which they communicate with their users and more importantly trying to remove the 'us and them' barriers as much as possible. It will be one of my crusades to make sure that any information that can be provided, is done so almost immediately, you'll have heard me many times go on about 'communication', i will be even more so now.

I will be voicing my own thoughts and those of my clients and also those of the community as much as i can. If you have something you want to email me about, feel free, i'm all ears.

OK this part does not sit nice with me, the use of my name which is something you have never done?

I hope you guys will remain the same as before

LOL Taddy, my Dad couldn't manage to change me in 30 years, so this role has no chance. I only called you Darren as it's an official announcement and not everyone knows what Taddy is. Seriously though, i won't be changing, it's an important role to me, but being myself is more important.

LOL I can see the posts now... "You've changed Rich!"

I'd like to think that most "regular" users have a good idea of what we're about by now. I'm sure I can speak for all of us that we wouldn't have taken on the role unless we thought it was a positive move.

Time will tell i guess, who knows i might have moved on by then.

So can you guys ask why product reviews are not built in to actinic then, seeing as no one from actinic has had the decency to answer me directly

or do i need to raise this somewere else?

I've asked the question. Can't promise that I'll get an answer or the answer wanted, but I've raised your point.

Just a suggestion, but the new mods might like to point people to the useful resources in their signature. CD (is it really over a year since he's gone?) used to use this:

New! Knowledge Base Online: http://knowledge.actinic.com/
Advanced User Guide: http://www.actinic.co.uk/

Excellent. You even fixed my dodgy copy from CD's signature and linked straight to the doc downloads. Ah, progress at last. :)

Actinic are ... trying to remove the 'us and them' barriers as much as possible.

I'm not so sure that the appointment of the 3 Musketeers isn't just another barrier between 'us and them'!

leehack

None of us will be a barrier to anything you wish to do Andrew, it's impossible for us to affect anything adversely in that area. The only thing that can change is on the positive side. So at worst you stay as you are, at best you get an extra voice through us, on top of your own.

Excellent news.

A few questions:

- is the new task force capable of deleting threads, moderating in full, merging, and generally all freatures, or are they limited?

- does the wicked trio wield the ban-hammer?

- does this mean they also moderate each other?

- will batman ever escape?

Most features including what you mentioned.

- does the wicked trio wield the ban-hammer?

No.

- does this mean they also moderate each other?

Yes - that's possible.

- will batman ever escape?
Not while the Joker's is still at large.

A bit more 'action' within the Actinic Epos board would be appreciated :(

Especially as we're looking at kitting out our new shop with Actinic Epos, buying Epos Head Office and also linking it to Actinic Ecommerce is the near future.
