Please can someone confirm that I will be able to integrate SSL or shared SSL with Actinic V7. We do not wish to upgrade to V9 at the moment but need some form of secure payment on the site. I know that Actinic no longer support V7 but need to know if it is possible to do this.

Many thanks

Yes you can use SSL in V7, but if you were going to use that to process card details yourself?, then in order to comply with PCI DSS guidelines you should be using a PSP instead. Then that also saves you the cost of an SSL which would no longer be needed. See: http://www.actinic.co.uk/services/pci-dss.htm

I don't think you really need both SSL and a PSP since PSP secures the payment for you, though some see an added SSL as a confidence booster to customers.

v7 supports SSL but it is best you choose a PSP rather than collect cc details on your own server due to PCI-DSS compliance requirements.

Thank you for your replies.

We are also thinking of setting up Paypal Standard payments - will this work okay with V7?

Yes Paypal Standard will work.

You probably dont need SSL (personally I'd steer clear of any shared SSL offering now) only consider SSL if you have customer accts as it will secure this for you.
