User Account Control

I have v10 on a new install on a windows 7 machine.
Everytime I start Actinic the 'user account control' box pops up saying;
Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?

I click 'yes' and it loads ok.

Just a bit disconcerting... Is it supposed to do this everytime.
All my other programs start without this happening.

A lot of my (generally older) programs do this in W7, they all run OK and I've just accepted it and click OK each time.

Also the actinic shortcut icon on my desktop has a 'shield' on it..
Please see the attached jpeg..
Is that correct.. It sort of looks like a warning.

Yes it's correct, these shield type icons aren't a warning sign, have a read of: user account control (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Account_Control).

It is perfectly normal, but very irritating. One of the reasons I stil prefer XP over Vista and windows 7.

I've only just moved to Windows 7 from XP

It does seem odd though that only actinic prompts the UAC screen.
I have plenty of other programs that are .exe and they dont cause the UAC screen to pop up.
Like dreamweaver, photoshop, office, excel, WinSCP, nero, mozilla firefox, the list goes on.
Only Actinic appears with the 'shield' overlay, and causes the UAC pop up.

Does anyone know why Actinic is the exception?

All my other programs start without this happening.You can stop this by changing the windows settings. In control panel select 'user accounts', then 'change user account control settings'. You can then move the slider down to minimum (not recommended), which will allow programs to run without the notification. This applies to all programs and is defeating the UAC system, your choice.

Does anyone know why Actinic is the exception?There are other programs that also act like this, I use Advanced System Optimiser that also triggers the UAC. As I understand this, it is because Actinic needs to write to the Actinic database which is stored in the user area and this triggers the UAC.
