Any thoughts EARLY on the VAT increase

I would like to see a better solution than the last VAT increase as it was awful!

Any ideas if the Jan 4th 2011 change is going to be easier with V10 without resorting to special EXE files or conjuring with Access...

In a word, yes. Version 10 will not require a special .exe to cope with the tax change.

Version 9 still will. However this time the government has given us plenty of warning, plus we can re-use and adapt the same solution as last time. Consequently we will be able to provide the tools and instructions much further in advance.

Yes, the same as v9. Although strictly speaking, those versions will be unsupported by then, except for Cover customers, and we haven't actually had time to discuss what we will provide for them in practice.

Although strictly speaking, those versions will be unsupported by then I agree but for something like the VAt change it would be extremely unpopular not to include them.

Most users of pre 9 know they are unsupported and dont expect new features etc etc but will be up in arms at the thought of being forced to upgrade due to an external dictat out of their control.

Oh for the days of the simplicity of v7 :D
