Hi,

To remedy our previous problem, we're going to experiment with using the weight postage system: the problem being that most of our products have no weight value assigned. Is there a quick way of applying a blanket weight to all products, so the few that are heavier can be changed quickly?

there's a default weight setting under business settings --> shipping and handling.

Excellent thanks...is there any way to force the default shipping that occurs on an order? AND Is it possible to add a customised notice to the shipping selection page ?

Excellent thanks...is there any way to force the default shipping that occurs on an order?You can change the order of the shipping classes to be alphabetical rather than in reverse order of cost. There is a solution on the knowledge base to do this HERE (http://knowledge.actinic.com/users/kadmin/acatalog/Knowledge_Base_Shipping_Setup_100.html#aGC192). It requires a change to the Perl scripts but nothing too scary.
AND Is it possible to add a customised notice to the shipping selection page ? You can edit the 'Message' field in 'Business Settings | Shipping and Handling' or else edit the Act_Order01.html template and add your own custom code for the message before NETQUOTEVAR:ADVANCEDSHIP.
