Localhost as your email

After three months trying to get a satisfactory solution to sending emails, including being told to get a fixed IP address and all sorts of stuff from the Actinic help desk, I found out today how to do it.

In the common connections box on the network setup, just type localhost in the Mail(smtp) server box. After I did that, our email problems were over. :)

Usually Actinic support is more on the ball than this.

There have been plenty of discussions in this forum about email problems and in each case the very first thing that's recommended to do if you have problems is to try using 'localhost' as the SMTP server address.
