Hi there

I have been going around in circles and got nowhere fast.

I am switching from Actinic to Active24 and have got problems with the network settings.

it seems the CGI-BIN problems keeps occuring and I have read all the other posts to try and gleam a solution.

My network settings are
HTTPPROXYMODE 0

HTTPPROXYPASSWORD

I have used the wizzard to help and get the the stage where I can locate the cgi-bin on the server and put the details in but then I get no further.

Error message pops up to say there is a http error in accessing the server as it may be busy or down.

The firewall is switched off.

ANY help would be great.

Have you searched the forum? There are a number of threads about network settings and Active24.

Have you set the permissions on the acatalog and cgi-bin folders.
Are you using a Windows or Linux server?

Have you set the permissions on the acatalog and cgi-bin folders

How do you do this?

I am on Windows server

Is there a reason why you chose a windows server rather than linux?
Are you going to run asp pages, do you need frontpage extensions?
If this hosting is only for Actinic then I would recommend you change it to linux hosting which should be much easier to set up.

I have changed the server to a linux so now I await it's propagation and then start with the wizzard once more.

Any pitfall to look out for?

You will still need to set the permissions on the two folders.
Whilst it's still in progress take a read of other threads regarding permissions etc as well as the other Active24 threads.
