Hello,
I'm considering the possiblity of having a wedding list facility on a site running Actinic - I would envisage that this would work as follows
i) bride and groom register their details on the site and are assigned a reference.
ii) they then select the items and quantities that they would like on their list
iii) the list is then available for their guests to view and order from, the order being processed in the normal way.
iv) I would like the full list to remain visible to those with access to it (ie anyone who has the reference number), but items that have been purchased are annotated in some way, or blanked out so that they can no longer be selected for purchase.
Does anyone have any suggestions of who could write such a system to work with Actinic? My hosting provides Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP environment.
Hi Alec
The wedding list idea is possible to a certain extent in Business/Developer with the use of customer accounts. It would work as follows:
i) The website includes instructions for a bride and groom to set up a wedding list
ii) A payment option is created as 'invoice with order' but with the website description given as e.g. 'add to wedding list'.
iii) The couple select all the items in the store that they want on the wedding list, adding them to the cart and in the checkout enter their details and select the 'add to wedding list' option.
iv) The order is downloaded and a generic customer account is set up for the wedding guests. Each product that is not on the list will have to be disabled against this account.
v) The login details are emailed to the bride and groom for them to include on the invites
The problem is that if stock monitoring is used, it will display 'out of stock' for a product whether or not the shopper has logged in. Therefore, if a gift has been bought, not only will it be displayed as 'out of stock' for other guests with the same login, but for all customers who haven't logged in. A message could be included in the description of any out of stock product that is only displayed for that customer account, but it is a bit messy.

I noticed on the Actinic site that smartdecisions.net is a partner.
Having checked their site, they do a plug in for "wish lists". It looks like it should do what we want - I need to build an identical site to yours! Have posted another subject to see if anyone has tried the plug in.
Dont know if you have had any further success?
kind regards

Hi Lorraine,
I've looked at the smartdecisions.net site, and can not see a site there. There only seems to be an index of some ASP.NET files.
Is this the correct site?

They do provide a demo of the plugin on their own site.
