Online vs Installed Software!?

I've had a little browse on here and not really found any similar questions:

We are debating as to whether or not to go online at present. I have a lot of experience with online systems and now I work with Actinic Business, the company I work for have used it for many years and are quite set in their ways.

My colleagues believe that apart from the amount of work that would need doing to recreate our websites, our products have far too great a level of options for the online software to be happy with.

What are the main advantages online has over the normal software?

Does anyone have experience in swapping?

Any advice that may sway the decision?

I am currently looking at how to use Actinic Online for my own sites by using the trial version so am also interested in any response.

There are many benefits such as remote accessibility and backups, but your data is "in the cloud". I understand that the server is not in the UK.

My initial reaction on design is that it is easy to use but you do not seem to be able to edit html nor have a great deal of flexibility on site design.

I would be interested to know how well Actinic Online sites fare in SEO especially if moving sites as we currently rate highly in searches.
