Experiences with V6.1.4 ?

I see from Actinic's home page that 6.1.4 is now released.

How many people are using it without problems ? The last I saw was some comments from Norman and Candleshop about version mismatches during the upgrade.

Is it the same as the Beta? The bug I found in the Beta (within 5 mins of installing it, too) - documented in the Details of Changes as:-

15. NETQUOTEVAR:VARIANTLABELn and NETQUOTEVAR:VARIANTSELECTORn now work correctly when the product has a component.

Has now had that item removed from the same file in the current download area.

Bit sad that they've removed the note about the fix rather than actually fixing it, especially when I told them exactly what was missing from their fix.

Unfortunately whenever we make a change to the software, no matter how small, we have to put the entire application through our QA procedures. This takes a few days, and we then would have needed to do another week's beta to check that no other problems related to the fix are found in the field. We decided that as this issue would only affect a relatively small amount of users, to go ahead with the version as it was.

Thanks for your input though. It will be used in any subsequent maintenance/full releases.

Thanks Chris. I guess I knew that. However that item I mentioned can't have been tested at all as the bug was so obvious.

Anyway, is the released 6.1.4 identical to the beta or is another download needed?

We decided that as this issue would only affect a relatively small amount of users, to go ahead with the version as it was.

I've just upgraded to 6.1.4 (downloaded from actinic site this evening), no mismatch issues.

The Froogle feed was very much improved although it still messed up on a couple of products. I need to look at the database to determine why.
