I guess I'm really going to show my ignorance here!!

I have created my first website and deployed it. It is up and running and working OK. However I have not yet added any metatags or metakeywors.

Firstly please could some kind soul tell me the difference between the two?

We subscribed to Google Adwords and this is generating some traffic to the site (and orders!) so things could be worse!

Any further suggestions for generating traffic? We have ben offered a submissions service at around £500 pa? Is this good value? Is it something we could do ourselves?

Any help or advice gratefully received!

Thanks Roy

metatags is a group name for a collection of tags which comprise

title
metakeywords
metadescription and so on

heres a link for you

search other threads in this forum for more SEO sites

I would not pay £500 to a submissions services. A submissions service does just that....submit.

you need to optimise your site (for which you will have to research all those SEO sites you will find in other threads) and then submit to Yahoo, Google, and MSN. With just these 3 you will corner 95% of the market
