smtp error when sending order recd?

Hi,

I test network settings and the mail comes through ok having specified the smtp server for my host.
However, when I get an order and send a mail confirming order received, payment received or order shipped I get an smtp error
"Failed to communicate with the SMTP server.

Possible Cause:
Network transmission problems.

Recommendation:
Retry

Resolution:
If retry fails, check your SMTP settings
or contact your ISP.


The error was:
**************@surf3.netError returned from SMTP server (4: 550 relaying mail to surf3.net is not allowed


Command: send Filename:"
I've tried changing the smtp from my host to my isp but then it's rejected again.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

change the smtp server to 'localhost' without the quotes, update and see if that works for you, should do.
