Could you post the name of a product we can search for, in order to see this problem happen.

I think you'll find Norman meant the name of the product that causes the problem with search. That way we can try and see what the problem is.

missing products
ok here is a clue , i recently had a shuffle around and moved a few products to different sections.
go to my site
www.oldskoolvinylrus.com
go to the search page
type
lla
most of the products in the (----91-95 OLD SKOOL----)
i think it is not purging old locations?

The error message i get is http error 500, which is an Internal Server Error not a page not found.
It may be worth contacting your hosting company to see if they have changed any of the configuration settings or perl versions etc.

After turning off friendly error messages this is the exact error message.
Internal Server Error, this is an error with your script, check your error log for more information.

I've had a couple of looks now buy don't know what could be causing it.
have you tried doing a site refresh?

if you are considering a site refresh then ftp to the site first and manually delete the html pages. this way you will know if catalof is re-generating them.
I don't have the faith that catalog always deletes everything when it does a site refresh

At this stage it is not going to hurt to start again fresh. I would download ALL files from your ftp to a backup folder on your PC and then remove everything from your ftp. Once that is done upload via catalog and it will be uploading completely fresh pages.
If it goes drastically wrong you can always upload from your backup via ftp.

I think I recall other posts where wierd things like this turned out to be because there were missing "/" on some of the network setting paths.
It wouldn't hurt to post your network settings (hide FTP user and Password).

Are you sure your webhosting company have not upgraded their perl version or IIS / Apache recently.. As this is a script problem i am still inclined to believe that there is something not quite right with it.
